DAY 6

Up early today as we have the 8.20am. bus to catch back to Thornton. Twenty minutes and £3.50 later we’re off – the bus took the very long, scenic route. It started to rain just before we got to the canal at East Marten where there’s a very odd bridge – it’s like two bridges stacked on top of each other. When we got to Gargrave we had to go into the Dalesman café where we met a man called Stephen Pern who interviewed me for Radio 4. Fame at last! We walked through some lovely but very wet and misty scenery until we walked into Malham feeling very bedraggled at 3pm. As we crossed the road to the visitors centre, someone shouted my name. It was Tom Stevenson with his wife and daughter. They were staying near Bolton Abbey and had come over to see us. It was lovely to see Tom again. At Malham YHA that evening I met up with a school group about my age and I went to dance and play with them. It was fun and their teachers sponsored me too! Total now £1472.
