DAY 5

Today started slightly better weatherwise but we did have to put our jackets on when we got to the moor for a bit of rain. We walked with Thorsten and Regine to Cowling and on to lunch at Lothersdale where we parted company – for good this time. The scenery was quite pretty – the Dales. Even the moorland around Earby was nice when the sun came out. We walked on to Thornton – in – Craven as the day had turned out so well and back – tracked to Earby on an old railway line. A thrilling visit to Earby launderette ended our afternoon. We booked into Earby YHA to find a table reserved for the Edlingtons – again – and one with our name on it saying ‘fully booked’. They’d been here the night before! A nice end to a good day.
