DAY 17

We set off at about 9:00 am. Another sunny day. A couple of days ago we met another small group also doing The Way. Some of them were rugby players from Wigan. We were to meet them again today as we walked down from Hadrians Wall and on into the forest. This is also where we met Matthew, who we walked with for a while. As we entered Wark Forest the air was thick with midges so we put our hair nets and insect repellent on. Did we look silly! Just before lunch we saw some more Frankenstein cows. It got very hot in the afternoon and we all tired. From a distance Shitlington  Crags looked really big but when we got there they were dead easy to get up and we didn’t even have to climb. We got into Bellingham about 4:00pm and spent some time in the visitor centre and café.
