DAY 12
We had an early start today and by 8:00am I had
fallen off of a stone ladder stile and hurt my face on one of the steps. As I
fell I put my hand in the only Stinging Nettle around. It was not a good start to
what turned into one of the best days of all. We stopped at Middleton In
Teesdale for another teashop – it’s turning into a teashop / pub walk –
anywhere we can get a drink Most of today’s walk was beside the River Tees.
There were so many wildflowers we couldn’t count them all. Two of the best
things today were Low Force and High Force. They were stunning and with the sun
shining and a good breeze it was perfect. It was a nice easy day with the best
views so far, although I did feel very homesick later that night.
