DAY 1
Left B&B at Edale at 9a.m. – just
after the rain stopped. Met a German couple we were to see on and off for the
next few days. Kinder was no problem. The sun came out as we walked along
Devils Dyke with our friend Barry, who had joined us for the afternoon on
Bleaklow. Saw and heard a peregrine falcon down in Torside Clough before
reaching Crowden YHA at 6pm. Where we were to meet our six other companions for
the next two days. Barry took us to Padfield for dinner where we were joined by
our friends Dave and Shirley for a drink. It was a good end to a good first
day. Money pledged so far £1407.
